Los Angeles, CA (PRWeb) March 8, 2007 -- Alliance Group Entertainment has joined forces with Ray Charles, Jr. to produce the sophisticated, psychological crime thriller, "Hotel California."

Directed by Geo Santini--known for his cutting-edge music videos--"Hotel California" originated from Santini's film short entitled "Partners," which Geo filmed over a three-day weekend in 2004. Although extremely low budget, the visually artistic and compelling 13 minute short flawlessly conveyed the complex story, and became the perfect pitching tool to get producers interested in the project.

Ray Charles Robinson Jr. son of the legendary soul R&B singer Ray Charles, and one of the producers of the award winning motion picture "Ray", was contacted early on in the developmental stages of "Hotel California," by Alliance Group Entertainment and Geo Santini.

"I was first approached by Geo Santini--who felt I should watch the short, and read the script to "Hotel California." Upon seeing the short and reading the script, I knew that the film would be the perfect follow-up project to "Ray." I was completely inspired by Geo Santini's passion to get "Hotel California" made, so I approached Alliance Group Entertainment and let them know that we had to make the film. They agreed, and the rest is history," says Ray Charles, Jr.

"Hotel California"--which has been described as an edgy film noir with a gripping storyline--revolves around 3 friends (Troy, Pete, and Al) who are involved in the seedy Los Angeles crime world. The film conveys what happens when betrayal, greed, and dishonesty penetrate a close-knit friendship circle. As past betrayals clash with present loyalties, Troy, Pete, and Al push each other to the limit as they try to make sense of their failed partnerships. As the tension builds up to a boiling point, all hell breaks loose in a series of intense twists and turns that lead to a gripping climax.

The producing team purposely chose some of Hollywood's most promising up-and-coming actors to star in the feature film including; Erik Palladino (ER, and F/X Network's Over There); Simon Rex (Scary Movie 3, Scary Movie 4); Tyson Beckford (Into The Blue); Tatyana Ali (Glory Road, Fresh Prince of Bel Air); Yancy Arias (King Pin, Die Hard 4) and Raymond J. Barry (Little Children, Training Day). The passionate cast endured long 16-hour shoot days on a tight 21-day filming schedule to provide the producers and director with the footage needed to transform the brilliantly written script into a motion picture masterpiece.

"Because we were working with a limited budget, our goal was to choose a cast that felt as strongly about the film as we do, so that they were not working specifically for the paycheck, but more for their belief in the project" explained Mike Karkeh (CEO, Alliance Group Entertainment).
