Boaters Make Successful Descent of L.A. River in 52-mile Los Angeles River Expedition
A eclectic group of Angelenos successfully navigated kayaks and canoes down the full length of the 52-mile L.A. River (from headwaters to estuary) as part of the first-ever Los Angeles River Expedition 2008. The three-day exploratory expedition demonstrated that the whole river merits a determination as a "traditional navigable water" -- which would entitle the river to the highest standards of federal clean water protections under the Clean Water Act. New Film Production Opportunity in Southern California
(PRWeb) March 2, 2007 -- The Los Angeles Avengers, one of the Arena Football League's premier teams recently took advantage of the facilities at Soboba Movie Ranch for their training camp.
According to FilmStew.com Chairman, John Culton, "Although California faces stiff competition from other countries and other states, demand for film and television content continues to grow and filmmakers continue to search for applicable filming opportunities in California."
One filmmaking opportunity that's new and unique to Southern California provides a diversity of filming possibilities and some easy solutions to costs, red tape, and services. It's the Soboba Movie Ranch in Riverside County. The Ranch is owned by the Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians and operates in concert with The Oaks Retreat and Conference Center. FilmStew.com is marketing the property to filmmakers on behalf of the Tribe.
"Recently the Los Angeles Avengers used the movie ranch most of February for their training camp," Culton said. "The ranch is very flexible with its facilities and services."
The Soboba Movie Ranch is located in a quaint canyon at the base of Mt. San Jacinto. It has a diversity of topography and facilities including four major event facilities including baseball / softball diamonds; a regulation football field with bleachers and professional locker rooms; an outdoor arena suitable for any outdoor event from concerts to fights to Bull Riding; and, the Tribe also owns the Country Club at Soboba Springs, a championship golf course with picturesque setting of streams and lakes at the base of the towering San Jacinto mountains.
The ranch has over night accomodations and can comfortably house approximately 50 guests should the filmmaker need to keep a crew close by. The Soboba ranch staff can custom tailor food service needs, from cafeteria style to traditional craft services to outdoor dining and BBQs. Visit http://www.sobobaranch.com.
